You can find my full disclosure under the DISCLOSURE TAB. Thanks a lot! Don't park vehicles on the drainfield or septic tank. Also, don't mount driveways, patios, carports, decks, storage sheds, sports courts, landscaping plastic, and/or allow pets or animals to graze. These activities load up soil and could lead to pipes breaking. Please note: The acceptance to use must be released before expiry of the Permit to set up (2 years).
Whenever a property is connected to sewer a disused septic tank system will be there on the property and in the end require decommissioning. This entails pumping the items out of the tanks preferably accompanied by removal of the system. Generally removal is extremely hard and the base of the impervious tanks are busted and the whole system (tanks, leachdrains and soakwells) are backfilled with clean dirt.Shown below is a sample standard unit installation with two drywells in series - bringing sewage in through the lid. Top loading (with vent) ensures maximum surge capacity for the drywell. Please note that venting your leaching pit (or any septic field) is most strongly suggested... insufficient venting at both ends of lateral lines is the best cause of leach field failure (after lack of proper two area filtered septic fish tank). Oxygen continues the drainage pit dry and the soil around it healthier. Freezing is rarely, if ever, a challenge with jogging sewage drinking water underground, but you can always cover the vents in profound winter, if you need to. We provide all the accessories pictured with your kit (san tee, riser, coupler, vent and geotextile fabric). The geotextile cloth is included for unit installation above the gravel covering. It keeps backfill ground from clogging the gravel and is crucial to extending the life of your leach pit.
